Programs that make a difference
We support and prepare students to further develop into global citizens that are socially responsible, critically aware, and meaningfully engaged through our breadth of service opportunities. Roughly 83% of Emory’s student body is involved in service across the community—service has been part of the DNA of the university since its inception. Alumni and faculty are an integral part of the effort. The following programs offer impactful engagement opportunities for students, faculty, and alumni. Together, we are making a difference. Everyday.
Community Building and Social Change
Through academic coursework, an intensive paid summer field experience, site visits and more, Community Building and Social Change Fellows understand the critical role of collaboration in resolving important social issues and partake in impactful community projects.
Emory Votes Initiative
The Emory Votes Initiative fosters a more engaged campus by providing nonpartisan voter information, supporting voter turnout, and empowering our community with credible resources. EVI helps set active civic engagement habits early in adulthood so all students graduate as lifelong involved global citizens.
Zayan Shamayeen Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this award is to commemorate the exceptional qualities which Zayan either possessed or valued during his lifetime, and to recognize those who uplift the spirit of humanity in its many different facets. This award will provide a deserving undergraduate student who embodies these characteristics and values with an opportunity to serve their community and make a larger impact on the greater good.
