Georgia 2022 Senate Runoff Election Dates

→ November 7 - Deadline to register to vote in runoff election

→ November 27 - Early voting begins in DeKalb County + other counties (view runoff early voting locations here)

→ November 28* - December 2 - Mandatory early voting across the state *some counties start sooner*

→ November 28 - Deadline to request an absentee ballot (but please request it ASAP and only do so if you really need to vote by mail, otherwise, please vote in person)

→ December 6 - Last day to vote early in person

→ December 6 - RUNOFF ELECTION DAY



 

  • August 16: Earliest day to request an absentee ballot for general election

  • Monday, October 4: Voter registration deadline. Last day to register to be eligible to vote in November 2 general election and November 30 general runoff

  • Tuesday, October 12­–Friday, October 29: Advanced in-person voting

  • Tuesday, October 12: Earliest day for a registrar to mail an absentee ballot

  • Friday, October 22: Last day to submit an absentee ballot application

  • Tuesday, November 2: General election (Election Day). In-person voting 7 a.m.–7 p.m., at your assigned local precinct. Also the last day for mailed absentee ballots to reach county boards and count

  • “As soon as possible”: Counties mail absentee ballots for the runoff, and advanced in-person voting begins for the local and state runoff

  • Tuesday, November 30: General election runoff for local and state offices

  • March 7, 2022: Earliest day to apply for an absentee ballot for May primary election

  • April 5: Earliest day for a registrar to mail an absentee ballot for May primary

  • Monday, April 25: Voter registration deadline for May 24 primary election and June 21 primary runoff

  • May 13: Last day to submit absentee ballot application for May 24 primary

  • May 2–20: Advanced in-person voting (and absentee ballot drop boxes) for May 24 primary

  • May 23: Last day to register to vote in federal races in the June 21 primary runoff

  • May 24: Primary election. In-person voting 7 a.m.–7 p.m. at your assigned local precinct. Also last day for mailed absentee ballots to reach county and count.

  • May 30: Advanced in-person voting begins for the June 21 primary runoff

  • June 10: Last day to submit an absentee ballot application for June runoff

  • June 21: Primary election runoff 

  • August 22: Earliest day to apply for an absentee ballot

  • September 20: Earliest day for a registrar to mail an absentee ballot

  • Monday, October 10: Voter registration deadline to be eligible to vote in November

  • Advanced in-person voting (and absentee ballot drop boxes): Dates TBA

  • October 28: Last day to submit an absentee ballot application

  • Tuesday, November 8: General election (Election Day). In-person voting 7 a.m.–7 p.m. at your assigned local precinct. Also last day for mailed absentee ballots to reach county and count.
